The Animated Series' Creator Has Seen Your Second Season Bingo Cards β With Some Positive Updates
The much-anticipated Season 2 of the adult animated musical series Hazbin Hotel debuts on Prime Video soon, and fan speculation has been rampant.
Season 1 presents a diverse group of characters living within Hell and Heaven, pits them against each other with songs detailing their conflicts, and establishes heated competitions and emotional bonds that fuel audience devotion.
The community's expectations for season 2 vary widely, but certain threads emerge over and over: Will a fan-favorite character break free from Valentino? Might we learn more about the binding agreement constraining Alastor the Radio Demon? Will [favorite character] and [other character] finally get together?
"Naturally, I don't make the show with fan service as the main goal," the showrunner stated recently. "However I feel like me being a fan of my own show means there's a lot of it just naturally. I also want to see these things, and I hope some of these things to occur, and clearly some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"
She says her big-picture plan is for a five-season run of Hazbin Hotel. Seasons 3 and 4 have already been green-lit by the production companies, which finance the series.
That could imply fans have to be patient for some of the biggest payoffs β but they could be shocked at how fast the new season moves, and how many of what they're waiting for unfolds now.
"I believe people are going to get a lot out of it," she adds. "There are several debut moments. I think we receive some incredible reveals, some really cool backstories, and even just simple things, [like] I hope this character gets a song. [β¦] We're going to hear much more singing from the previously silent cast members."
The creator is well-informed of the theories and desires about season 2 β especially in the format of audience prediction charts.
"I've seen a couple people create a prediction grid about the new season," she says. "Naturally I won't share it, but I've actually done a few items, and almost all of them have almost a bingo. I was like, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that makes me think we accomplish much [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I was like, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that brings me joy."
Hazbin Hotel season 2 launches on Prime Video on Oct. 29.
